Angel's trumpet can be started from tip cuttings using the normal techniques. Take a healthy cutting about four to six inches long, remove any foliage from the bottom half, dip in rooting hormone if desired (follow label instructions), and stick upright into slightly dampened soilless potting mix. Water lightly to firm the soil around the base of the cutting, then cover with clear plastic and set in a bright location out of direct sun. (Direct sun would cause excess heat like a parked car.) Open occasionally to allow for air exchange and make sure the soil stays damp. When roots have formed, gradually remove the cover and move the plant to the brightest possible location. In my experience, the key to success with this plant is temperature. A warm soil (say 75 degrees) is important and to provide that, a gentle bottom heat such as that provided by a propagation mat or soil heating cable is usually needed if you are starting cuttings indoors during the winter.
