It's not unusual for older palm leaves to turn yellow and die, but new leaves should be produced as this is happening. It doesn't sound as though your plant is very happy in its new home. Check the root system to see if it is still alive (healthy roots will be creamy white inside and dead roots will be an orangish-brown or black). If the root system is okay, place your palm in a shady place and allow it to recover on its own. If the roots are diseased or dead, there's no hope for your palm.

Good luck with your palm!
