I can't get root vegetables to grow. The go to tops and no bottom. Soil is good and about 8-10 inches deep. Can you tell me what's wrong?

Most root crops will develop better in cooler temperatures. So, try sowing your seeds in the early spring for mid-summer harvest or sowing in mid-summer for a fall harvest. Provide adequate water, hold off on the fertilizer (it encourages lush, green growth at the expense of roots) and give your crops all day sunshine. Hope these hints help you successfully grow root crops!
