I would like to save some overgrown mountain laurels. Is it possible to transplant them. If its possible how should i go about it.

Although it is possible, it is not a small job. The plants would need to be dug with as much of their root ball intact as possible, the tops trimmed back to compensate for any root loss, then transported and replanted immediately. Aftercare would be critical in that the plants would need to be watered just as a brand new plant would for several years. A mature plant can be extremely heavy, so if you attempt this make sure you have plenty of help and use a sheet of plywood or a tarp or similar mechanism to move the shrub. The best time to move it would be very early spring.
