I have never had a pink polka dot plant live in my house much less bloom. I wanted to know what makes them bloom and if it is something that is unusual or pretty common. |
Hypoestes phyllostachya blooms fairly easily, but the flowers are insignificant, so don't feel bad! It prefers bright to medium light, moderately moist soil and humidity (set the pot up on a saucer filled with pebbles and a shallow layer of water), and normal to cool temperatures. Use an all-purpose houseplant fertilizer and pinch back the plant to make it bushier. |
