|I started jalapeno peppers, and banana peppers inside from seeds and they are about 2 1/2 - 3 inches tall. Will they will survive planting in the garden, or should I buy bigger pepper plants?
|The size of your transplants isn't as critical as the outdoor temperatures. Peppers are warm-season plants and will grow best in warm soils with nighttime air temperatures that remain above 50F. If your weather is spring-like you can transplant the peppers into your garden. If nights are still chilly, chances are the soil is too, and it would be best to keep the plants indoors for a few more weeks.|
