Scented geraniums are wonderful houseplants and can be grown outdoors during the summer. Indoors, they need a sunny window. If the plant becomes leggy over the winter, trim it back in early spring. Feed with a water soluble fertilizer according to the label instructions during the growing season. Reduce watering somewhat and stop fertilizing during the winter when growth slows. Yes, the flowers and foliage of scented geraniums are edible and can be added to salads and baked goods provided the plant has not been sprayed with chemicals.
