When can I move my ficus tree outside to my patio without worrying that the weather is too cold? I love it when they thrive outside but don't want to move them too early.

I always wait until daytime temperatures outdoors are equal to those indoors before moving my plants out for the summer. If temperature differences are too great the plants will suffer shock and lose their leaves. When you do move your ficus, do it gradually by placing it in a protected spot during the day and bringing it back indoors at night. After several days of this treatment your ficus will be ready to spend the nights outdoors.
