When to I plant vegetables in my area?

The answer to your question depends on what you are trying to grow this spring. Some cool season vegetables such as broccoli, peas, spinach and beets can be planted out about a month beofre the last expected frost. Others, such as beans and corn, would be planted around the last expected frost date. Still others, the more heat loving plants, would be set out about a week after the last frost when the soil has had some time to warm up: this would include tomatoes, peppers, squash, melons. Your local county extension or tv/radio weather reporter should be able to tell you the local frost dates.
