I bought tulip bulbs to plant in Fall of 2000 but had not planted them. Will they keep in the bag until I plant them this Fall (2001) or should I plant them now to protect them from the summer heat? I live in York, Pennsylvania. Thank you. |
Unfortunately late March is terribly late to plant tulips. They need several months of chilling temperatures in order to root and bloom well, and will shrivel if trying to grow in the heat of summer. It is also very difficult to store them under home conditions until next fall. Since the alternative is to throw them out, you could try planting them and see what happens. I'm sorry I can't be more encouraging. |
