Determinate tomatoes have vines that stop growing when they reach a certain length. They then set fruit which ripens within a couple of weeks. They are smaller than indeterminate varieties, making them good choices for people with space limitations. Theycan be planted fairly close together and do not need staking, making them ideal for containers. They are good choices if you can tomatoes because most of the fruits will be ready at about the same time. The disadvantage is that you will not have tomatoesripening all summer long and you may not get your fill!
