|Usually when we plant roses in the spring we use bone meal. We are concerned about the stories on catching mad cow disease. May we safely use bone meal or should we avoid it? (One question with two parts)
Thank you for your help.
|Since mad cow disease has not been found in this country theoretically it should not be in bone meal made here from local animals. If you are worried about it, you could look into substitute sources for the nutrients supplied by the bone meal (nitrogen and phosphorus).|
