What is the growing season for snapdragons in Phoenix, AZ?

Since snapdragons are cool-season flowers, fall is the best time to plant them in your region. If you plant them now, and keep the flowers picked, you may have blooms until April next year.

I have had them planted in a pot since fall, in mostly sun. Now, I'm thinking I should cut them back, weed them out, and put under awning so they can endure the summer heat. In the fall, move them back where I have them now, if they have survived
