What common house plants can pose poison danger to children and pets?

There is a surprising number of very common houseplants that are potentially dangerous to children and pets. It is always a good idea to keep the plants away from the pets and to teach children not to eat them as a general rule as well. Also, keep your poison control number handy just in case.
