Climbing Hydrange Not Blooming - Knowledgebase Question

My climbing hydrangea vine has never bloomed. It will be the fifth growing season, and the leaves always look nice green, although last year they did have rusty spots on them. The vine is facing west, and receives afternoon sun. I have tried fertilizing it as well.

In my experience, it can take this plant several years to settle in and bloom, but it is worth the wait. You are located near the very northern end of its range, so this may have added a bit of time to the establishment phase. The plant does prefer a rich, evenly moist soil so you may want to keep that in mind as well.
