Can you tell me which perennials have the longest blooming time in the New York area. I love having my gardens in bloom in the spring and summer but I do not always select the right perennials that have continuous color. |
Unfortunately, most perennials only bloom for a few weeks at most. If you have a preponderance of early season bloom, look to later blooming perennial plants such as purple coneflower, late season daylilies, oriental lilies, perovskia, asters, boltonia, mums and sedums to extend the color or else add some annuals for a source of continuous color. |
