Lavender generally produces only one stem per plant, making division difficult. If your plant has more than one stem, you may be able to dig and divide, but most lavender is propagated by tip cuttings. Prune your plant back this spring to control the size and try rooting just the tips of the cuttings by dipping the cut end in rooting hormone and putting each into a container filled with moistened potting soil.
