|What perennials can you suggest for a northerly exposure, that grow to a height of 9 -12' tall, that would grow in sun or shade, be neat and clumpy or shrubby and like sandy soil (amended with peat where yaupons and dwarf hollies grow). Evergreen plants would be great as this would be around yaupons in beds in front of house. I live in zone 7.|
|Shrubs for shade include aucubas*, azaleas, camellias*, hollies, hydrangeas, and viburnums*.
Shrubs for sun include abelia, cotoneaster, silberberry* (Elaeagnus), flowering quince, euonymus*, rose of Sharon, privet*, photinia*, pyracantha*.
Many of these plants come in a variety of forms--dwarf types, upright types, etc., so be sure that they will grow to the height and form you are looking for.
Your question came through as requesting perennials 9 to 12 feet in height--if you meant 9 - 12 inches tall, please submit another question via the web page and we'll try again!
