You have asked an interesting question. Many wildflowers are grown in perennial gardens and flower beds are often acceptable (even welcomed) in the front yard. A wildflower meadow usage, however, might not be appropriate depending on the style of the neighborhood and your own landscaping style. In some instances a recreation of a meadow can be successfully incorporated into a more formal landscape by carefully defining its edges and engaging in an educational program for the neighborhood. I hope this answers your question.
