How often should a Boston Fern be watered when it is kept outside during the spring and summer? How often should it be fed? |
Boston Ferns prefer moist soil so water as often as necessary to keep the soil from drying out. You can feed weekly with a quarter-strength dilution of liquid fertilizer, or monthly with a full strength dilution of liquid fertilizer. Since Boston Ferns grow year around you can feed monthly without worrying about overfeeding. Provide bright light outdoors but keep your fern out of direct sunlight. |
