|On the early blooming spring plants such as Easter lilies and hyacinth bulbs, how do I cut them back so that they will get all of the nutrients from the leaves? Do I just cut the flowers back until they have stopped blooming or do I cut back on the stem of a large hyacinth stem?

|You can cut the flower stalk all the way back when the blooms are spent. However, let all of the foliage die back on its own, as it is supplying nutrients to the bulb for next year's growth.
