Please give me the best method for storing dahlia tubers over the winter. |
Dig the tubers up before or just after the first mild frost. Gently shake the soil from the tubers, air dry in a cool (35-40 degrees) dry location for a few days, and then store tubers in dry peat moss in the same type of dry, cool environment. Cool garages and attics generally work well for storage but watch out for mice, squirrels, and chipmunks....they love to snack on tubers, bulbs, rhizomes, etc. |
