|I was wondering how deep do I need to allow for the root system. I am building a frame for a garden instead of using the ground itself. Also same question for zucchini, cucumbers, and peppers.

|Most mature vegetables develop a root system that is 12 inches deep. So loosening existing soil or building soil up to a depth of 18 inches to improve drainage and allow for the roots to expand easily is a good idea.
