|I started beefmaster hybred tomatoes from seeds and the stock is 1 1/2 foot high already but very thin like a pen width ...how can I make the stem more stocky? This would never hold a tomatoe if it had too, it would probly break in two . Do I need to trim off bottom leaves to help encourage better growth?

|Starting the plants too early (more than six to eight weeks) and holding them under indoor conditions (and/or in insufficient light) can result in overly leggy growth, but there is not much you can do to change it. At planting, remove some of the lower leaves and plant them horizontally in the soil with the tip of the shoot and a few leaves above ground. Roots will form along the stem.
