I purchased 5 Little Henry Sweetspire shrubs and can find very little information on them. I would like to know if they bloom on old wood or new wood? When is the best time to prune them for shaping? Are they prone to any disease problems that I should look out for? Any information you can give would be most appreciated?

Sweetspire (Itea virginica) grows prefers moist soils, such as those along streams or in wetlands. It blooms best in full sun, but tolerates some shade. They bloom on old wood, so prune after they finish flowering. Like many native landscape shrubs, sweetspire has no serious disease or pest problems.
