Heatwave II is an ideal variety for your region. The fruits are not as large as some, but the plants tolerate heat quite well. You could also try Big Beef, which produces 12-ounce fruit and grows well in a wide range of climates. For record-setting fruits that weigh in over a pound, try Delicious. All of these varieties are available from Burpee.
