|Is it okay to plant vegetables on top of a leeching field? Does it matter how deep (below the surface) the top of the field is? Does it matter if the vegetable grows above or below ground?

|It really is not a good idea to plant anything except grass over a septic system leach area. It's important for water to be able to evaporate. Turfgrass will actually help wick water up from the ground. Find a different spot for your veggie garden!
