we would like to plant these 2 ornamental trees(kwanzan cherry and kousa dogwood)in front of our house like in both corners of the far do we have to plant them away from the house? is there a danger of their roots damaging the foundation of the house as they grow? please advise.

Thank you very much!

Any tree will send roots outward at least as wide as its branch spread and usually wider; if there is a weakness in the foundation somewhere then the roots could possibly make it worse. This is also true for underground pipes and drains and so on.

Both of these trees are potentially very large, so planting at the corner might not be the best location ten years from now. The Kwanzan cherry can reach 30 feet or more and the kousa dogwood can spread about 25 feet across and tall.
