How big does helleborus get & can it be grown in total shade except for a couple hours of heavily filtered afternoon sun. |
Helleborus will generally grow 1 1/2' - 2' tall and about as wide. It is a very easy plant to grow in shade to partial shade with a humusy soil that is moist yet well drained (meaning not soggy). They may take a year or two to become established, but once establisheds are usually very long lived. They may also self sow and make a little colony in spots they like. |
