I have some seed Packages leftover from years past, How many years past the package date are seeds good? |
The answer to your question depends on what kind of seeds you have and how they have been stored. Some seeds such as tomatoes may last for up to five years but others such as corn do not last long at all. Storage that is dry and at an even temperature is best for preserving seed over time. Eventually, though, even under excellent conditions, the viability will drop and germination rates will decrease to the point where the seed needs to be replaced. |
