Nice Strawberries But Diluted Flavor - Knowledgebase Question

I have Tristar strawberry plants that look very healthy and have nice looking leaves and berries. However, the berries do not get deep red, although they look ripe (maybe that's the way Tristar is?)and the flavor is very diluted tasting. This is the second year for these plants, I have put some compost in my soil and fertilized with an organic fertilizer. My soil is mostly clay but has had some amendments added to make it better. I am wondering if this is a soil problem or could the berries be getting too much water. They get watered by a sprinkler system or rain once a week but my neighbor is often sprinkling his grass and the water gets on the strawberry bed. I also have the bed well-mulched. I am wondering whether the diluted taste could be from too much water (the bed does not seem soggy) or whether it is more apt to be a soil problem. If you suspect a soil problem, could you suggest something that I might try to help with the diluted flavor problem? Thanks!

Overwatering can cause less flavorful berries, so the double watering would be a possible cause. It may also be that Tristar is simply not what you personally consider a "good tasting" strawberry, since different people have different ideal flavors.
