My children have several flower seed packets that are 3 & 4 years old. They wanted to try and plant flowers this year. What is the likelihood of the flowers sprouting? Most are perennials such as daisies and coneflowers.

Many flower seeds are fairly long lived, including the two you named. I would not expect as high a germination rate, however, as I would with new seed. Also, some perennials will germinate better if mixed with damp soilless mix or vermiculite in a plastic bag and chilled in the fridge for several weeks just prior to planting.
