Iris are usually moved in mid to late summer when they have had a chance to recover a bit from blooming. This allows them to reestablish during the cooler and rainier fall. They may however be transplanted at other times. Try to replant only the most vigorous newer sections and discard the older pieces of rhizome for best results.
