|Experts recommend mowing at the heightest recommended height for your variety of grass. It is also advised to remove no more than one-third of the blade at each mowing. Removing more stresses the plant as it loses tissue for photosynthesis and inhibits root growth. Also, maintaining a dense, thick cover reduces many weed problems.
