| Marian, Desert rose (Adenium obesum) loves hot weather and full sunlight. During the summer when it is growing it likes to have regular watering and good drainage. When temperatures drop into the 50's move it to a bright protected location indoors as it will not tolerate cold weather. Allow it to be fairly dry during its dormant season. It is not unusual for the plant to be sparsely leafed to leafless for extended periods between flushes of growth. Cut back on water during these times. Thanks for the question.
