I am looking for some vining perennials that can be grown for arbor shading in an area that is partly sunny (morning). Our local store has some lovely Mandevilla vines but I thought that this climate would be too harsh to leave them to overwinter in the ground. Is this true or would the Mandevilla survive? Thank you

Mandevilla would not survive a winter outdoors; it also prefers sun all day long. For a location with morning sun you might try clematis instead.
