Sow seeds in early spring with a bottom heat of 68-77 degrees F to enhance germination. Use a sterile seed-starting mix and keep the surface moist at all times. Make a plastic "tent" around the container, for example. Place seedlings out of direct sunlight until they establish. Gradually harden them off before exposing them outdoors. You can also use softwood and greenwood cuttings in early summer with a bottom heat of 68-77 degrees F.
