What type of soil do raspberries like? Acidic or basic, what ph is the best? Is sandy better than loamy, and what does one do with a very clay soil to grow them?

Raspberries are fairly tolerant but do best in a rich, well-drained sandy loam with a pH range of 5.5 to 6.8. If you have clay soil, incorporate generous amounts of organic matter, such as compost and peat moss to a depth of 12-18 inches.
