Where can i find information about the correct type of plants to put in a very specific area. The area happens to be a amall island located in the Navesink river next to Rumson,N.J.. As you can imagine, preserving the island is important for the few lucky people who get to live there year round. We would like to plant only native plants, and we would like to find info. on plants that would attract local wildlife(birds,butterflies,etc...)

What an interesting project!I would suggest you contact a local naturalist who could help you determine the most appropriate plants for that location. You might also contact local wildflower societies, the Audubon chapter, and so on for additional information. Your local County Extension 431-7260 may be able to help you locate additional resources available in your local area as well.
