I am a novice. I just purchased a container garden which is full of different colored impatiens which I have placed on my deck. The deck gets the morning sun and late afternoon sun. I have noticed that some of the inpatients (the white and red)love the sun and are blooming and looking beautiful. The pink ones seem to be having a hard time. What could be causing this? Also, how often should I water them. Thank you. |
There are hundreds of species of impatiens; some prefer shade, some prefer sun and most do well with morning sun and shade from the hot afternoon sun. Since you have a mixture of plants, I'd suggest providing afternoon shade for your impatiens. The plants like rich, moist soil. Water often enough to keep the soil moist, but not so often that the soil stays soggy wet. Enjoy your impatiens! |
