| I have German Chamomile growing, but it's not doing very well. It's drying up and has a stem on it about 10 inches long that doesn't look to healty. It gets full afternoon sun and I keep it well watered. This is my first attempt at grow chamomile and I'm not sure what it supposed to do! The blooms on it don't look so good. COuld you please advise me as to what I can do to help it grow better? Thank you Darlene. |
| Chamomile can be Chamaemelum nobile (with small yellow buttons for flowers), or Matricaria recutita (with daisy-like flowers). C.nobile grows in full sun to part shade with little to moderate water. M. recutita requires full sunshine and moderate water. Depending upon which plant you're growing, you may have to move it to a sunnier location, or water more infrequently. At this point, I'd cut off the dried and browning stems, both to stop the spread if they're diseased and also to encourage healthy new growth. Try feeding with a quarter-strength liquid fertilizer every week for a month, and water deeply only once each week. Hope your plant perks up soon! |
