Amaryllis Bulbs Won't Bloom - Knowledgebase Question

I planted some amaryllis bulbs a few months ago and the green shoots came up very quickly, but I have yet to see any flowers or even a hint of a flower. How does it take for them to blossom? Do they not have enough light perhaps?

If they are planted in pots indoors, they usually bloom fairly soon after the foliage appears. If planted outdoors, they usually bloom in spring. I've found that their bloom cycle can vary quite a bit. As long as the foliage appears healthy, I wouldn't worry about it. It may not bloom this year, but it will probably bloom next spring. They take full sun, but benefit from afternoon shade in hot climates.
