Half of my HARRY LAUDER'S WALKING-STICK
Corylus avellana 'Contorta' died over the winter. Scapping the bark one half is green under the bark, part of the top of one half has some leafs. The other light brown dead sticks.not leafs.

I have had the plant in the same place for about 4-5 years.

Any chance it's sick?

Thanks for the help.

Based on your description, it is apparent that there was significant die back on the plant this past winter. This can be caused by weather extremes, a problem with the graft if the plant is grafted, damage to the roots or trunk, or even pest or disease. You might wish to consult with your county extension as to the cause of the damage and what if anything you can do to help the plant. I'm sorry I can't be more specific.
