When I bought my roses they were covered with wax how do I go about getting rid of the wax?

The ends of the canes are dipped in wax to keep them pest free. In the spring, new growth will emerge from latent buds along the canes and the wax will weather away on its own. It isn't necessary to remove the wax - in fact, leaving it on will provide protection against cane boring insects.
