Deer will eat almost anything if they're hungry enough, but they tend to stay away from native plants as well as Abelia, Bamboo, Barberry, Boxwood, Bottlebrush, Choisya ternata (Mexican orange) Daphne, Erica, Escallonia, Holly, Juniper, Nandina (heavenly bamboo), Pyracantha, Sumac, Syringa (lilac) and Viburnum. They don't often bother the following flowering perennials: Agapanthus, Bougainvillea, Columbine, Aster, Begonia, Chrysanthemum, Echinacea, Ferns, Freesia, Iris, Lupine, Bee Balm, Nepeta, Poppy, Rudbeckia, Thyme, Veronica or Impatiens. Best of luck with your garden!
