What is a hedge like plant that would give privacy yet look appropriate in a forested area? We would like something to add to the natural landscape and yet give us some privacy when we are out on our deck.

There are several plants that you can use for a privacy screen - you can even plant trees close together and prune them so they become a bushy hedge.

Consider Forestiera (New Mexican Privet), Acer glabrum (Rocky Mountain Maple), Amelanchier (Saskatoon Berry), Ceanothus (Wild Lilac), Abies (White Fir), or Picea pungens (Colorado Spruce).
