|Working on planting recommendations for hedgerows along fencelines at several railyards in the city. They will serve as a screen for 12'fence & be 6'at initial planting. To avoid a monotony we will be varing species. The total linear distance = 30,000 ft (6 miles).Need to know availibity of the follwing: Thuja occidentalis 'Emerald'and 'Yellow Ribbon', Juniperus Scopolorum 'Sky Rocket' and 'Wichita Blue' and Pinus sylvestris 'Fastigata'.Also, are they appropriate for the mentioned condition? What are things we need to consider about these species?

|This is a huge project. I am not sure I understand why this person is asking this question in this email format, I would have expected the person doing the specs to know about the plants and growing conditions for such a large scale project. I would also expect them to leave a name and title. In case it is legit, I think maybe Monrovia would want to pass it to a regional rep or something? In any case they would need to consult with urban forester or horticulturist on site to verify growing conditions -- I can't begin to imagine the scenario including potential soil conditions and external restrictions such as safety requirements. Around here they keep the sides of the tracks bare in part for general safety and in part for maintenance access, I believe. ??? Barb M.|
