|I notice difference in the blooms of some bouganviliea.
Which of your "red" colored, vine bouganvillia has the most profuse bloom and stays the most evergreen in warm climates.. ( eg barbara karst etc..)?
|Bougainvilleas perform pretty much the same here in the low desert. They bloom more profusely when they are slightly stressed for water and nutrients so don't overwater or overfertilize. They really don't require much of either once established. They are evergreen but may suffer from frost, but quickly rejuvenate when temperatures warm. Don't cut back the frost damage until after March 15 or so. Although it may look unsightly it protects the plant from future frosts. Barbar Karst does well here. It can reac 20-30 feet. Torch Glow is smaller, about 6 feet. Choose for the planting space you have so you don't have to do unnecessary pruning to keep the plant in bounds.|
