|If the confederate rose bush is not cut back to the ground will it still come back in the spring ? The one we have was not cut back and there appears to be some black tips, it seems to not be showing any new life. Can we rescue it still? HOW?|
Yes, an unpruned bush will return in the spring. However it may be a bit slow to resprout whether you cut it back or not as that plant loves warm conditions. If the topgrowth was killed by winter freezes as I suspect it was, go ahead and cut it back to a few inches above the ground now to get the old dead stalks out of the way of the new growth.
