I have two Paraguay Nightshades. I am not sure how to care for them. Do they need alot of water, dryer soil, shade, sun, feeding (what and how often). These trees are beautiful in the spring and sometime during the winder, however durring the sumer and fall, I have a hard time with them keeping their leaves and blooming. I live in Zone 9.

Please help, I love these trees and would like them to bloom in the summer (if that is what they are supposed to do, I don't know).

Thank you.

Solanum rantonnetii 'Royal Robe' is a medium-size evergreen shrub with numerous slender arching stems (and is sometimes trained into a tree or topiary form. It displays masses of large, fragrant, rich blue-violet flowers with yellow centers over long season. Provide regular water during the growing season and full sun. It's a fast-growing plant to 6 to 8 feet high, with equal width. After the plant is established, you only need to water occasionally, during the hottest months of the summer. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Prune semi-annually to maintain form and encourage flowering. Following the above guidelines should produce beautiful blooms throughout the growing season. Enjoy!
